I have had for a couple decades a collection of commentaries and dictionaries through Logos. It’s worked out well for me because I always have them with me through their phone app. MHC is the one I reference most often.
Avoid commentaries. Commentaries are killing the Church. Commentaries are man’s ideas and interpretations of God’s Word. Man’s ideas and interpretations produce denominations and divisions. These are the product of learning to incline your ear to man.
Inclining your ear to God’s Holy Spirit will teach you to understand God’s Word in Truth. “Blessed art thou Simon BarJonah for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee but my Father in Heaven hath revealed it unto thee.” The Spirit of Revelation is the Rock the Church is founded on. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to establish that Jesus is the Christ in every man’s heart. And, without this work by the Holy Spirit no man can know that Jesus is the Christ.

So what about the New Bible commentary Africa Bible commentary (second edition) and the global Bible commentary they are all one whole volume commentaries
I like to research the top few commentaries on each book of the Bible and buy one in the book I am studying at the moment. Not really interested in having sets. Just best information.
