Thank you for these recommendations! I agree that there are a lot of “fluffy” devotionals out there. Just downloaded the kindle version of “Prayers of the Bible.” I also find the sermons/devotions of George H. Morrison to be especially substantial and beautifully composed!
May i add an outstanding recommendation. Dick Brogden authored Live Dead Joy for his sons at missionary boarding school. With particular application to a middle Eastern mindset and encouraging prayer for Muslim unreached nations. Deeply insightful and searching. I’m also enjoying the old testament volume by Glen Scrivener at present
Thank you! This was so helpful! I’ve noticed for many years now that it’s incredibly hard to find good faithful modern devotionals. I grew up reading morning and evening, Spurgeon is still the GOAT in my opinion for devotionals.
